Rains lash city after 5-day lull

Delhiites experienced good rains after almost five days on Wednesday. While the citizens got respite from high humidity and heat, the capital was largely spared the traffic and waterlogging blues that have become a permanent feature this monsoon.
According to the weather department, the capital received 4 mm of rains from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm. The maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 35 degrees Celsius (one degree above normal) and 27.7 degrees Celsius (three degrees above normal) on Wednesday. The maximum and minimum humidity was recorded at 92 per cent and 65 per cent, respectively.
The skies will remain partly cloudy with thundery development on Thursday with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers, said Met reports. Meanwhile, the MCD’s central control room received at least 13 complaints of water logging in the capital. Complaints of trees or their branches falling on the roads were also received at some places.
