Delhi Metro services on Blue Line (Noida City Centre/Vaishali to Dwarka Sector 21) were disrupted severely during Monday evening rush hour due to a technical snag between Subhash Nagar and Tilak Nagar stations.

Train services on the corridor were disrupted due to a damaged overhead wire around 4.30 pm and this led to overcrowding at stations and entry to several stations was closed. Trains were running on a single line between these two stations. This led to bunching of trains on the corridor going towards Dwarka.

Several trains came to a standstill while others crawled and stood for over 10 minutes at each station on the corridor. “Train services on Line 3 will be affected due to OHE breakdown between Subhash Nagar and Tilak Nagar stations of Up Line (Going from Noida towards Dwarka) around 4.35 pm. This may lead to bunching of trains on Up Line. Single line planned between Tilak Nagar and Rajouri Garden till OHE is rectified,” a DMRC spokesperson said. Commuters faced severe inconvenience as trains got delayed by over half-an-hour. The commuters took to social media to express their displeasure. “I’ve crossed just four stations in one hour. What’s wrong with the Blue Line I’m so irritated now,” tweeted a passenger.

Officials said only single-track operations were carried out between Tilak Nagar and Rajouri Garden till the OHE was fixed. “We are using single-track operation to resolve the problem at the earliest,” he added. The spokesperson added that the OHE was repaired at 7.05 pm. “Normal services restored on the entire section,” he added.
