The Delhi BJP has condemned chief minister Arvind Kejriwal for tweeting against an advertisement “issued in national interest” claiming that such advertisements will help bring investments to Delhi.

The Delhi BJP has condemned chief minister Arvind Kejriwal for tweeting against an advertisement “issued in national interest” claiming that such advertisements will help bring investments to Delhi.

Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said that Mr Kejriwal’s tweet against a Central government advertisement related to “ease of business” has given one more conclusive reason why the Centre should not give full statehood to the national capital.

In the said advertisement related to investors, the Centre has given information on environment clearances countrywide, policy on industrial regions and measures related to ease of business initiated in the national capital by the state government or local municipal bodies or the Centre directly.

Mr Upadhyay said, “Today’s tweet is a reflection of the petty mindset of chief minister Kejriwal who does not even understand that being the national capital any Central government information will obviously mention the trade policies in the city as all foreign investors will come through Delhi. In fact, Mr Kejriwal should appreciate that the Centre has promoted Delhi. Today, he has given another reason for the Centre to say why Delhi can’t be given statehood.”

He added, “It appears Mr Kejriwal knows that whatever reforms of VAT or record digitalisation in Delhi was quoted in the advertisement do not actually exist on ground and so he is creating confusion on it too.”
