A Class 8 student was kidnapped and raped allegedly by a youth who wanted to teach her a lesson for turning down his proposal for friendship in east Delhi’s Jyoti Nagar area on Thursday.

The incident came to light on Thursday night when the 13-year-old victim arrived at the Jyoti Nagar police station and lodged a complaint against the youth, a driver by profession, and his two friends. One of the accused is a minor boy who has been apprehended by the police along with Gaurav, 21, and his friend Harish Singh.
The victim was going towards a local market near her house for shopping when Gaurav, who was in his Santro car with his two friends, stopped the vehicle and asked her to get in as he wanted to talk to her over some issue. Without knowing her intentions, the victim got in. The three accused took her to Gaurav’s rented accommodation in Jyoti Nagar,” said a source.
When Gaurav tried to rape her, the victim resisted upon which the accused beat her up and threatened to kill her. Gaurav, who got married some days back, then raped her.
“They confined her for a couple of hours and then let her go. He said that he was feeling humiliated and wanted to take revenge for turning down his proposal,” a police official said.
The victim narrated the entire incident to the police officers and at her instance, a police team conducted a raid at the said house and nabbed the three youth.
The Santro car used to kidnap the girl was also seized.
