City schools gear up for last day rush

With Saturday being the last date for submission of forms for admission to nursery classes, many schools have doubled the number of counters to handle last-minute rush. The schools have even demanded police presence to ensure there was no untoward incident during the process.

“We have increased the counters for submission of forms because we expect a huge rush on the last day. This would be convenient for both the parents as well as the school staff,” an official of Mahavir Public School said.
Commencing from January 1, the admission process will have to be closed by March 31.
The DoE has instructed that commencement and closure of the admission process will be uniform in all the schools. The last date of publication of the list of selected children and those on waiting list will be February 1 and the second list will be released on February 28.
