6-year-old girl crushed to death in Kapashera

A six-year-old girl was crushed to death by a car driven by a five-star hotel employee in southwest Delhi’s Kapashera area on Saturday morning.

A six-year-old girl was crushed to death by a car driven by a five-star hotel employee in southwest Delhi’s Kapashera area on Saturday morning.

The accident took place at around 8 am when the six-year-old girl, identified as Batti, was playing at the service lane of Dwarka Link Road. Driver of the car Sachin Pawar, 24, was arrested by the police, said Surender Kumar, DCP (southwest).

Sachin who worked at the front office of Vivanta by Taj in Dwarka was returning his home in Ber Sarai in his i20 car after completing his shift when the accident occurred, the police said.

He has been charged with rash driving and causing death by negligence. The body of the victim was sent for autopsy.

The girl’s father was employed as a temporary worker with DDA.

On Wednesday, Anupama Aggarwal, an assistant professor at DU’s Bhagini Nivedita College, allegedly crushed an 11-year-old schoolboy under her car in southwest Delhi’s Najafgarh. The professor was allegedly talking on her cellphone while driving when suddenly the boy, who was riding a bicycle, came in front of her.
