2 arrested for raping girl, 14, in moving car

A 14-year-old girl was kidnapped by two men who raped her in a moving Hyundai Accent car for hours before dumping her near her Kanjhawla residence, the police said on Friday. The incident took place when the accused, Amit Gupta, 24, and Manoj, 23, pulled the girl into their Hyundai Accent car in Kanjhawala area at around 5 pm on February 6. The victim had gone out to purchase milk from the market.

“The accused took turns to rape her. While one kept driving, the other raped the victim. After roaming around for hours, they dumped the victim near her residence around 10 pm and fled,” a source said.
The victim walked up to her residence and narrated her ordeal to her parents. Her father took her to the police station where a complaint was launched against the accused who are known to the family. The victim was sent for a medical examination which confirmed sexual assault. “A manhunt was launched to nab them. Amit was arrested and he led us to Manoj. The car has been impounded and a case of rape and abduction has been registered against them. Both have been previously involved in criminal cases,” a police official said.
