: The last time India hosted an ICC event – World Cup 2011 – the tickets were up for sales from June 2010. But fingers are being raised at BCCI and ICC en route their preparations for ICC World Twenty20 event in 2016. There is barely a month left for the event and there is still now news on the sale of tickets.

Fans are going berserk browsing websites and looking for answers. Being an ICC event with fixtures announced three months before the affair, tickets were expected to be available at least a month ahead.

Earlier, BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur had promised that the sale of tickets will start from February 9 which didn’t happen.

Ideally, the ICC cannot be blamed for such a situation since the host board happens to be BCCI.

The tickets for ICC World T20 in 2012 (in Sri Lanka) began six months before the maga event. Even Bangladesh, hosts to the last edition in 2014, started their sales from 2013.

That’s not all, there is still no clarity about Pakistan’s participation and West Indies coming with their top team.

There are chances that the Caribbeans may end up with a second string team.
