Really shocking, says Sreesanth

Bengaluru, Sept. 5: Joining the chorus of present and former players seeking punishment for players found guilty of match fixing, injured India seamer Shantakumaran Sreesanth said that those charged were cheating a nation.

“If they are found guilty they should be punished as they are not only cheating the fans, they are cheating an entire nation,” the pacer said in Bengaluru on Sunday.

He was also quick to add that he was not approached by any bookie while playing for India. “As far as my cricketing career is concerned, luckily nothing of this sought has happened and I have not seen any fixing.”

Terming the incident an unfortunate one, Sreesanth said that it was a big blow for Pakistan cricket. “Yes indeed it’s a big blow for Pakistan cricket and I am really shocked at whatever has happened.”
