Confident Team India arrive in Kingston

A confident Indian team arrived here for the second Test against hosts West Indies starting Saturday, hoping to carry on the momentum it gained with an innings victory in the series opener in Antigua. The morale of Virat Kohli and his men is high after the record innings and 92-run thrashing of the hosts.

Indulging in a bit of recreational activities, opener Shikhar Dhawan, who scored 84 in the first innings of opening Test, enjoyed with his playstation. Dhawan posted a video where they he is seen enjoying a Fifa football game with Kohli, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Wriddhiman Saha among others.

The West Indies team also reached the Jamaican City aiming to overcome their loss.

Head coach Anil Kumble, Kohli and Dhawan also paid tribute to the Indian soldiers on the occasion of Kargil Diwas.

Kohli tweeted, “60 Days, Operation Vijay. I was in school during the Kargil War. I remember how every family shared the pain of the soldiers.

“We prayed for them & felt proud of being an Indian. To the soldiers & their families, you are the real heroes of India #JaiHind.”

The BCCI tweeted: “The Indian team has arrived in Kingston for the second Test match. The boys look upbeat. #WIvIND.”

After a thumping victory over West Indies in Antigua, Indian team, led by Virat Kohli, enjoyed some quality off-field activities to recharge after four-days of cricket.

Indian players might not have had the most competitive outing against the West Indian in first Test, but as per Shikar Dhawan’s latest tweet, they did face competition playing Fifa in their hotel rooms. Here’s what the left-handed opener tweeted: “Enjoing plying fifa on play station with boys.Lots of fun,competition in this too!!! Check out boys concentration.”

Meanwhile , West Indies’ skipper Jason Holder conceded that his side were always playing “catch-up” game throughout the first Test against India, which they surrendered meekly losing by an innings and 92 runs.

Holder said, “It is always tough to play catch-up cricket. We never bowled well in the first innings. Yes, we had some good bowling partnerships but not for long sessions. Going forward we definitely need to improve, to string together better bowling partnerships, and bowl more maidens. Having said that we were not able to create enough pressure in their first innings,” Holder said after the defeat.
