Yuvraj Singh who is undergoing treatment for lung cancer has been advised to stay positive by Geoff Boycott. The former England captain himself has overcome cancer.

“I would advise him to stay positive”, Boycott, 72, said from Dubai, where he is commentating on the Pakistan-England Test series.

Ten years ago the legendary England opener was diagnosed with throat cancer. But he defeated the disease through his determination and the support of his life-partner, Rachael. Boycott has been as busy as ever since his recovery.

“Follow the instructions given by your doctor and enjoy the life. You have to fight out the battle where success is not guaranteed”, Boycott further added.

Boycott's mother died of breast cancer because she ignored a lump under her arm. She left it too long because she was frightened. “My message to people is don’t delay and don’t think your symptoms are going to go away as if some fairy has waved a magic wand”.
