As novelist Robertson Davies said, “Authors like cats because they are such quiet, lovable, wise creatures, and cats like authors for the same reasons”. I, however, always had the impression that only canines make lovely pets. But this impression is thoroughly dispelled by Pallavi Aiyar’s Chinese Whiskers, a story of a changed 21th century China narrated through cats’ perspective.
