British motorcycle brand Triumph Motorcycles has introduced its new product, the 2017 Street Cup, at the ongoing INTERMOT show in Cologne, Germany. The cafe racer-style bike is based on the currently available Street Twin. It comes with a lowered handlebar, slightly rear-set footpegs and a single seat. According to Triumph, the Street Cup has got new, distinctive urban sports features that include an authentic bullet seat, removable cafe racer seat cowl, racing-inspired fly screen, and bar-end mirrors.

Powering the bike is the same 'high torque' liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine, displacing around 900cc which also powers the Street Twin. However, the Triumph Street Cup gets new upswept exhaust mufflers. Mated to a 5-speed transmission, the motor makes 54.7PS of power and delivers a peak torque of 80Nm.

Apart from the distinctive looks and handling geometry, the bike shares most parts with its sibling, the Street Twin, including the suspension set-up and the brakes. Along with the twin-pod, digital-analog instrument cluster and LED tail lamp, the bike gets an USB charging socket as well. The company is also providing advanced electronic equipment, such as Ride-by-Wire, ABS, switchable traction control and a torque-assisted clutch. Moreover, the company will offer more than 120 optional accessories for the bike.

The Triumph Street Cup is expected to enter the market by the end of this year and it will be positioned between the Street Twin and the Bonneville T120 models. Some reports suggest that the new Triumph could make its entry in the Indian market early next year.
