Kolkata: NYSE-listed $7.2 billion Avery Dennison, a global leader in material science and functional material, has now kicked off its ‘Distribution and Slitting Center’ in Kolkata, which will be the centre to supply label and graphic materials to the eastern Indian market and Bangladesh. This is the company’s fourth distribution centre in India and first in the eastern part of India.

Spread across an area of 31,341 sq feet, this centre is also equipped with state-of-the art slitting equipment as well as the capacity to house one million sq metres of inventory, strengthening the delivery capabilities, in support of the business growth for the India operations. This is a strategic move catering to the material demand for West Bengal, North East and Bangladesh businesses.

Pankaj Bhardwaj, general manager and senior director, South Asia, label & graphic materials group, Avery Dennison, said that the opening of this new Distribution and Slitting Centre is a testimony of our continued commitment to the Indian label industry.

The eastern part of the region is witnessing an increase in investment from brand owners and label converters alike, and this centre will cater to their increased requirements more effectively and efficiently. Our customers across all businesses; namely rolls materials, sheet fed materials as well as graphics materials can now optimise their inventory and grab the relevant business opportunities that require faster turnaround and support. With its strategic location, this center will also serve our Bangladesh customers faster and better.
