New Delhi: As per the data from the Bar Council of India, there are about 20 lakh registered Lawyers in India and the growth rate with which new professionals are joining the profession is about 4 per cent per year. Contrary to the advent and disruption due to the deep penetration of technology in our lives, more than 95 percent of the legal professionals across all legal forums like District Courts, High Courts, tribunals etc and more than 45 million MSMEs and thousands of active startups face a lack of appropriate legal-tech infrastructure and all these entities and professionals manage their cases, teams, documents, and all other legal requirements manually thereby reducing the efficiency, transparency and out-reach.

Gurgaon based startup, LegalKart is India’s first practice management app for legal professionals that strive to bring a paradigm shift in the legal practice domain by leveraging cloud computing technology. It is the first player in the legal-tech domain assisting legal professionals in organizing their legal practice by covering all the aspects of a case lifecycle right from filing, monitoring, documentation, client invoices, and real-time case updates.

LegalKart is a unique practice management app wherein lawyers can build, manage and grow their legal practice and automate all their manual processes to be more efficient and updated. The lawyers can assign tasks to the team, synchronize case calendars, share real-time updates with clients, chat with their peer group and connect with legal professionals across the country.  The app provides advanced features like financial management, client management, document sharing, and team management. It also facilitates collaboration with other legal professionals at the same time.

The Founder of Legal Kart, Dr Arvind Singhatiya, Ex-Vice President, ESSEL Group, and Ola Cabs observed that no adoption of any technology in Legal Practice is a massive barrier in the growth & efficiency of legal professions. To bridge this gap Dr. Arvind, an alumnus of National Law University Jodhpur and an awardee of Honorary Doctorate in the field of Management created India's first legal practice management mobile app for legal professionals and a tech dashboard for businesses to discover lawyers across the country. Prior to incorporating the parent company, Black Coat Technologies Pvt. Ltd., he worked with corporates like OLA Cabs, METRO Cash and Carry, ESSEL Group, ACME Solar and FICCI.

Speaking at the mobile App launch, Dr Arvind Singhatiya, CEO and Founder, LegalKart, said, “India is poised to become a 5 trillion-dollar economy and conducive Legal and Regulatory scenario will be the key enabler for this humongous growth. In the technology era where Food, Healthcare, Transport, Social Media is being transformed by Mobile Technology; there is a vacuum of technology in the legal domain. We at LegalKart, firmly believe that our technology for lawyers will not only help them enhance their productivity and efficiency but also help them manage their clients, financials & cases with ease like never before.” With the ever-growing economy and burgeoning startup ecosystems, lawyers will be busier than ever before, hence LegalKart’s technology will cater to all the practicing lawyers across the country in all courts and legal forums to build, manage and grow their practice on the LegalKart app.

According to the Zion Market Research, the global legal-technology and Legal Artificial Intelligence market is expected to touch USD 37,858 million by 2026 and in India industry reports claim that only 2 per cent of the legal service market which is about USD 1 billion is organized in the form of law firms. In this backdrop, a startup like LegalKart is transforming the legal-tech-space in India by helping individual lawyers and Law firms manage their legal practice efficiently.

LegalKart aims to enhance transparency throughout the case life-cycle for corporate and business-related legal matters. To increase the adoption of technology at every level of legal practice this app is designed in English and Hindi languages. The free to use LegalKartapp is avaliable on android and IOS platform, with an optional empanelment feature where professionals can become LegalKart’s Panel Lawyers by paying minimum Rs 1499 for a year.
