BMW has launched the new M sport variant of the 3 series GT. It is based on the 330i variant. The 330i M sport is the third variant in the GT lineup after the 330i petrol and 320d diesel variants. Changes made on the M performance variant are mostly cosmetic and will be offered in the Estoril Blue shade along with the existing colour options. The 330i BMW Gran Turismo M performance is being assembled at BMW’s Chennai facility.

Prices (ex-showroom)

·         320d GT Luxury Line Rs - 47.8 Lakh

·         330i Gran Turismo Luxury Line Rs - 48.6 Lakh

·         330i Gran Turismo M Sport Rs - 49.4 Lakh

Let's talk about the engine first. The M Sport gets the same 2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol which makes 252PS of peak power and a maximum torque of 350Nm. Mated to this motor is the eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The car accelerates from 0-100kmph in 6.1 seconds, same as the Luxury Line and claims to return a mileage of 15.34kmpl. So why the M Sport tag you ask?

Because, on the outside, it now gets the M aerodynamic package, 18-inch M star spoke alloy wheels, M badging on the side panels at the front, gloss black kidney grille and M badge door sill plates. Now, inside, it gets the option for M Sport upholstery, sport seats for driver and passenger, BMW headliner in Anthracite and, the most important - multifunction M leather steering wheel and the heads-up display. Another neat addition is the M strip on the key.
