Skoda launches Octavia corporate edition at Rs 15.49 lakh

The Octavia Corporate Edition is based on the basic variant of the Octavia and is available only for existing Skoda customers.

Skoda India is now offering a new edition of the Octavia called the Corporate Edition. However, the new edition, which is priced much lower than the base-spec Ambition variant, is only being offered to existing Skoda customers. The petrol-powered variant is priced at Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom India) while the diesel variant can be yours for Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom India). This makes the petrol and diesel variants of the Corporate Edition Rs 50,000 and Rs 1 lakh cheaper than the Octavia Ambition. Sadly, it is only available in one colour - Candy White

 Skoda has launched a new variant of the Octavia called the Corporate Edition. Offered exclusively to existing Skoda customers, the petrol-powered version of the Octavia Corporate Edition is priced at Rs 15.49 lakh while the diesel option costs Rs 16.99 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). The Corporate Edition now becomes the new base variant in the Octavia lineup. Compared to the Ambition petrol, it's cheaper by Rs 50,000. The diesel, on the other hand, undercuts the same by Rs 1 lakh. The Octavia Corporate Edition is available across all authorised Skoda showrooms with Candy White being the sole colour option.

The new variant of the sporty sedan can be had with either the 1.4 TSI petrol engine or the 2.0 TDI diesel coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol engine puts out 150PS of power and 250Nm of torque while the diesel motor produces 143PS and 320Nm. As for performance, the petrol-equipped car can hit 0-100kmph in 8.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 219kmph whereas the diesel version does the same in 8.9 seconds and max out at 218kmph. The petrol engine can eke out 16.7kmpl while the diesel has a mileage of 21kmpl.

Safety features on the Corporate Edition include four airbags. anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Hydraulic Brake Assistant, Anti Slip Regulation, Electronic Differential Lock, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Multi-Collision Braking.

The features list on the Corporate Edition include a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system that includes Android Auto and Apple Carplay, dual zone climate control, quad headlamps with LED DRLs, illuminated and cooled glovebox, multi info display for the driver and 16-inch alloy wheels. The features list remains the same when compared to the base Ambition variant. Take it a step ahead with the Style variant and there are a few major misses though, with some of them being cruise control, an 8 inch infotainment system, leather seat upholstery and cornering function of the front fog lamps.

Along with the launch of the Octavia Corporate Edition, Skoda recently introduced Shield Plus - a segment-first initiative to ensure six years of hassle-free ownership experience. It incorporates the first year of comprehensive motor insurance and three subsequent years of third-party coverage, 24x7 roadside assistance (RSA) for the fifth and the sixth year, and an extended warranty for the fifth and sixth year or 1,50,000km (whichever is earlier).
