When the crew said: Surprise!

The cast and crew of Silsila Hai Pyaar Ka organised a surprise bash for over-worked birthday boy Abhay Vakil

Ever since Silsila Hai Pyaar Ka took a five-year leap, the show’s cast is barely left with any time for leisure. But no matter how busy things get, they make it a point not to forget special occasions like birthdays. Sticking to the pact, the cast and the crew recently organised an impromptu bash for the leading man of the show Abhay Vakil on the sets. Abhay has been busy shooting day and night to finish off the episodes and he had no time to make any specific plans for his special day. So his colleagues on the sets decided to throw him a surprise.

A source from the sets reveals, “Abhay was trying very hard to leave early on his birthday but the director smartly managed to make him stay back till late night insisting he cannot be allowed to leave as the schedule was very cut-to-cut on that day. The prank worked as the director kept a straight face throughout his conversation with Abhay and till the last minute the latter did not get a whiff of the surprise awaiting him. Within the next fifteen minutes, the entire cast and crew had gathered for the party.

An emotional Abhay said, “I was sad when the director said I cannot leave. Little did I know what were they up to. I had almost given up hopes of celebrating my birthday when they all came running and surrounded me. I feel blessed to have a second family like this. The celebration brought tears to my eyes. It was quite overwhelming. I can’t thank them enough for making my day so special”
