Salman on Kat-Ranbir split: ‘That page has been turned’

On public platforms, Salman Khan has more often than not, chosen to take embarrassing potshots at his former ladylove Katrina Kaif. That’s why it was a pleasant change indeed, when Salman chose to sing Kat’s praises at a recent event.

Salman was addressing students at MIT College in Gondia, Maharashtra, during a prize distribution ceremony, when he proffered Katrina’s rise to the top as an inspiring example for them to emulate.

“Katrina has achieved everything on her own because she is very hard working. I have never seen a more hardworking girl than her. She is India’s biggest star for you. But according to me, Katrina is a mazdoor (labourer) — that is how much she works on herself! You guys have to learn from her,” Salman told the gathered audience.

On the subject of Katrina, mediapersons gathered at the event couldn’t help but ask: What of her alleged break-up with Ranbir “I think that thing has become old now. That page has been turned,” quipped Salman, adding cheekily, “I feel so as per the rumours that I have been hearing.”

He also negated the speculation surrounding their recent joint appearances, by saying that it was a consequence of Katrina promoting Fitoor on Bigg Boss, and later their shoots for a comedy show and Sultan being held in close proximity.

The focus then moved on to the other beauty in Salman’s life — rumoured girlfriend Iulia Vantur — and whether he had any intention of tying the knot. “When it comes to marriage, I am doubtful,” Salman replied. “But I want to have three or four kids. Now I know that without marriage, kids are difficult to get, but I will manage it. Pehle umar nahi tha shaadi k,a aur ab umar pass ho chuka hai and I am happy.”
