Priyanka Chopra who has stayed tight-lipped on matters pertaining to her manager Prakash Jaju, finally spoke up. Following television actress Pratyusha Banerjee’s alleged suicide, Jaju, (who Priyanka is known to have had a non cordial relationship with) made claims on Twitter that the actress too, during her struggling days, had attempted to take her own life three times — one of them he alleged was in 2002, after the demise of her ex boyfriend Aseem Merchant’s mother.

Reacting to the statements Priyanka said, “This is utter... First of all, it’s so sad that the Indian media has given credibility to the man, who was in jail because of harassing me, without checking the history. I have nothing to say because there is no credibility to this person.”

Since Pratyusha’s demise put the spotlight back on the entertainment industry’s woes, Priyanka added, “Why don’t we talk about those women who commit suicide because they were harassed by their in-laws Or they kill themselves because they are unhappy in their homes It’s so easy to turn around and speak about showbiz.”

She further condemned those who are passing judgements about Pratyusha’s demise without knowing much.

“Nobody knows the truth. Nobody ever tried to find out what the poor 24-year-old girl was going through. As usual, people are dissecting her life and unnecessarily talking about her, not giving her and the family the respect they deserve right now.”
