Meet the Virgins

Last seen in director Syed Ahmad Afzal’s Laal Rang sharing the screen together, Akshay Oberoi and Piaa Bajpai are poised to repeat their chemistry in a short film titled The Virgins that releases online today. Speaking of his role, Akshay says, “The film addresses the societal taboo associated with pre-marital sex and I play a boy who is called Dhruv. We completed the film in three days — two days we shot in Dahanu and one day in Mumbai.”

The film features several intimate scenes between the lead pair. Piaa says, “Akshay and I share a great bond on screen and it was fun shooting with him after Laal Rang. Speaking of the film, she adds, “It is an interesting concept. Everyone has a past but when it comes to marriage, they want a virgin. The Internet gives a lot of room for creative liberty. There are no hassles of censor board or distribution. The budget is less too and the filming is completed in one go.”

The Virgins has been directed by Sandeep Verma of Manjunath fame.
