It’s all about the money for Kangana Ranaut

When not trending thanks to her run-ins with Hrithik Roshan, Kangana Ranaut has many other ways to stay in the news. Word has it that Kangana has been given a fat pay cheque for Rangoon, a package higher than even Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s. While no one has seen the closely guarded contract to verify this claim, Kangana has said in the past that she deserves a big price and that it was about time actresses too got paid as much as the actors in the industry did.

Not just for Rangoon, we hear that a leading studio has a great script and thought that they couldn’t find an actress better than Kangana to portray the lead role. The actress then agreed to meet the studio and even liked the script. According to an insider, the movie was as exciting a prospect as Queen was and Kangana was slated to be the hero of the film. The deal was proceeding smoothly till the point when Kangana moved the conversation ahead towards the moolah she’d get for the movie. According to our sources, the makers were shocked to hear that Kangana was demanding a whopping Rs 11 crores to do the movie. While the studio was dumbstruck at Kangana’s demands, the officials are in two minds about casting the powerhouse actress in the movie at all.

Kangana is not alone in the high pay package club for Bollywood actresses. Riding high on her popularity after working on xXx: Return of Xander Cage, Deepika Padukone too was in the news earlier this month for demanding and getting close to Rs 11 crores for a movie.
