The teaser of Girish Taurani’s second film Luvshuda released today. His first film Ramaiya Vastavaiya didn’t prove to be the jumpstart he was looking for. He waited two years to sign his next film. “After Ramayya Vasthavayya I took a break because it was a very heavy film in terms of promotion and other elements. I did get offers after that but they didn’t challenge me or move me. I waited for a long time and nothing substantial came my way. At that time I had the option of just starting another film or land a couple of films in Tips — it would have been very easy for me to do that. But I wanted that satisfaction where I could tell people that no matter where I come from, I am here to stay and I will come back with a film that I believe in,” he says.

The waiting period was not easy for Girish. He had no intention of venturing into production. He was clear that acting was pretty much all he wanted to do. “It’s hard to be patient and wait for the right script. But now I feel it was worth the wait. I keep telling my actor friends that they have to be patient as I have been on the other side.” As his contemporaries raced ahead, Girish had to battle frustration. “There were times when I broke down thinking that this was it and nothing good is going to come my way. But there was a part of me that made me hang on to it and told me that I am not the first one to go through something like this and I am certainly not the last one. The industry didn’t take me seriously as an actor and I don’t know why it was so, because I had put in all efforts in my debut,” he adds.
