Harshvardhan Rane supports dark is beautiful campaign

Actor Harshvardhan Rane, who just made his Bollywood debut with Sanam Teri Kasam, was recently seen at the Dark is Beautiful campaign in Hyderabad on Saturday evening. The event was the brainchild of Women of Worth, a Chennai-based NGO.

Speaking of the core message of the campaign, the actor says, “Don’t look at a person, look into the person. Heart is the hero, not the colour. I don’t stand against or for any colour, I just believe in endorsing the idea of not endorsing any colour.” The NGO has just launched in Hyderabad and the actor was there to support their new campaign.

“We called the campaign Beauty beyond Colour. We had stories about people who faced discrimination on grounds of colour and most of them are school and college students. They narrated their experiences at the event. Nandita Das, Gul Panag etc have supported us in the past. Harshvardhan too participated in the campaign and spoke of his father and how he taught him that everyone is equal. It was very nice of him to come and encourage the youth,” said Kavita Emmanuel, director of the NGO.
