Modi’s claim on surgical hit false: Pakistan

Islamabad: Pakistan on Thursday dismissed as “false and baseless” Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks on the “surgical strikes” across the Line of Control in 2016, saying “repeating a lie doesn’t turn it into truth”.

Foreign office spokesperson Dr Mohammed Faisal said that the threatening statements emanating from the top Indian leadership against Pakistan should be a matter of concern for the international community.

Addressing the diaspora at the “Bharat Ki Baat, Sabke Saath” programme in London on Wednesday, Mr Modi had said that India waited to inform Pakistan about the surgical strikes before disclosing it to the media and the people.
