Honor 8C launched in India with AI cameras starting at Rs 11,999

Huawei-owned Honor has launched a new handset in India in the form of the Honor 8C. This mid-range handset boasts some incredible features most notably AI cameras and an all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC. The Honor 8C is priced in India at Rs 11,999 for the 4GB+32GB version and Rs 12,999 for the 4GB+64GB variant. The handset will be sold as an Amazon exclusive starting from December 10. Jio users get additional benefits worth up to Rs 4,450 as well as 100GB worth of 4G data

The Honor 8C was launched a few weeks back in China and finally makes its way to India. The Indian edition of the 8C boasts all the bells and whistles that came along with the Chinese version with some of the key features being a 19:9 notched display, a Snapdragon 632 chipset and face unlock capabilities.

The Honor 8C features a 6.26-inch HD+ IPS display boasting a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. It comes with a 19:9 aspect ratio and an 86 per cent screen-to-body ratio. The hHonor 8C is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 632 chipset that’s paired with an Adreno 506GPU. There will be two configurations available 4GB RAM along with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Additionally, there is a memory card slot that allows you to expand upon the available storage up to 256GB more. The handset runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Huawei’s custom EMUI 8.2 skin on top.

As far as optics go, the Honor 8C comes loaded with a dual rear camera setup with the primary shooter rated at 13MP while the secondary shooter is 2MP. For selfies, the Honor 8C features a fixed-focus 8MP front-facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture. To keep the handset juiced up, Honor has added a 4000mAh battery that supports 10W charging. The handset will come in two gradient colour options — Blue and Black.

Honor has also shown off the Honor band and it sports a 0.95-inch OLED display with 2.5D curved glass. The fitness tracker can last up to 21 days under standby mode and deliver two weeks with regular use, as per the company. Additionally, the device has Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC. It is also water-resistant up to 50 meters. The device can track your sleep, heart rate and much more. The accuracy of the fitness data recorded can reach up to 95 per cent even when GPS is not enabled. The Band 4 will launch in three colour variants — Black, Blue and Pink.
