Apple teased by Xiaomi for over-the-top pricing of iPhones

A company teasing Apple by offering a bundle of products at the same price as that of a single iPhone, this is a bit unusual.

The social media got flooded with the memes and trolls of Apple after the launch of 2018 iPhones..

Enthusiasts were overly excited by the leaks and rumours of the budget iPhone which was expected to be launched at a much cheaper price as compared to other models. However, in came the iPhone XR which bears the starting price tag of Rs 76,900. This may have not only led to people frowning at the pricing but the social media has got flooded with the memes and trolls of Apple.

Well, teasing on social media have become a common and inevitable trend now but, a company doing it by offering a bundle of products at the same price as that of a single iPhone, this is a bit unusual.

Xiaomi is an invincible brand in terms of sales and one of the most successful consumer electronic companies of China. Following the launch of the overly-priced 2018 Apple iPhones, Xiaomi has introduced a full pack of its products in the country which consists of different gadgets and they are together priced similar to the cost of a single iPhone. The packs are been named after each iPhone model depending on the matching prices.

The three names of the packs include XR Suit, XS Suit and XS Max Set. The entry level bundle, priced at CNY 6,499 (approx Rs 68,200), the XR Suit offers Mi Notebook Air, Mi Band 3, MI Bluetooth Mini headset and the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE handset. A notch higher bundle — XS Suit includes Mi 2S smartphone,    Mi Notebook Air and the band and headset. This is priced at CNY 6,699 (approx Rs 91,300) which resembles iPhone XS 64GB’s pricing.

As for the top-end pack, the XS Max Set brings along the bunch of a Mi Notebook Pro laptop, Mi 8 smartphone, Mi Band 3 and Mi Bluetooth Mini headset. This lineup is priced at CNY 9,699 (approx Rs 1,00,700) which is similar to the pricing of the iPhone XS Max in China.
