Last week, at an event in Delhi, Xiaomi-owned Redmi introduced its first two handsets in the Indian market — the Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro. The Redmi Note 7 has finally been released in India as a Flipkart exclusive and will be available on Mi.com and Mi Home stores starting at Rs 9,999. The Redmi Note 7 first launched in China and it featured a 48MP sensor; however, the variant that makes its way to India doesn’t have the same primary sensor. It is a trickled down version of the Redmi Note 7 Pro but has specs that aren’t common to the sub Rs 10K price bracket.

The Redmi Note 7 is priced at Rs 9,999 in India for the 3GB/32GB version, while the top-end variant, the 4GB/64GB version is priced at Rs 11,999. The Redmi Note 7 comes in three finishes — Onyx Black, Sapphire Blue and Ruby Red.

The Redmi Note 7 features a 6.3-inch FHD+ display that supports a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and since it uses a Dot display, it comes with a 19:5:9 aspect ratio. The handset comes with MIUI 10 that’s based on Android 9.0 Pie. The Redmi Note 7 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC that’s paired with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of onboard storage.

As far as optics are concerned, the Redmi Note 7 comes loaded with a dual rear camera configuration with the primary sensor rated at 12MP with an F/2.2 aperture and the secondary sensor being rated at 2MP. For selfies, the Redmi Note 7 uses a 13MP sensor that’s AI-enabled. The front-facing camera features a variety of modes such as AI Portrait mode, AI Beautify, Face recognition and support for HDR. Apart from this, it also has AI scene recognition for up to 12 scenes.

Lastly, the Redmi Note 7 features a 4000mAh battery that features support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.

Xiaomi has a variety of launch offers as well. Upon purchase, you get an ultra-slim case. Xiaomi has partnered with Airtel wherein those who purchase the Redmi Note 7, you get up to 1120GB of 4G data with unlimited calling as a part of Airtel Thanks benefits.
