OPPO K1 with in-display fingerprint sensor, 25MP selfie camera launched

At an event in India, OPPO has finally brought the K1 to our humble shores and this mid-range handset comes with all the bells and whistles of an upper mid-range smartphone. The OPPO K1 is priced in India at Rs 16,990 and with it, we get some pretty incredible features such as an in-display fingerprint scanner, a 25MP selfie camera and a dual-rear camera setup. The handset will launch as a Flipkart exclusive and go on sale on February 12 at 12 pm.

The OPPO K1 comes loaded with a single configuration of 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Once launched, it will be available in two colour options — Piano Black and Astral Blue. As part of the launch offers included, customers will benefit from a 10 per cent instant discount via purchases made with Citibank credit and debit cards. Other introductory offers include no-cost EMI and complete mobile protection.

The OPPO K1 comes with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED waterdrop notched display that boasts a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and has an aspect ratio of 19:5:9. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and features a 2.5D curved display that aids in the handling. Due to the minimal notch found here, the display features a massive 91 per cent screen-to-body ratio. The OPPO K1 being a mid-range device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and paired with an Adreno 512 GPU. Apart from the 64GB of onboard storage, by using a microSD card, the storage can be expanded a further 256GB.

The OPPO K1 comes loaded with ColorOS 5.2 on top of Google’s Android 8.1 Oreo. As far as optics go, the K1 is fitted with a dual-rear camera setup that’s rated at 16MP for the primary shooter with an LED flash and 2MP for the second one that assists with depth sensing. Another highlighted feature is the 25MP front-facing camera that’s located in the waterdrop notch. Other highlighted features of this smartphone include an in-display fingerprint sensor, Face Unlock, a micro USB port for charging and data transfer and a 3.5mm audio jack.
