The new price cut paves the way for the brand to introduce its next flagship, the NEX Dual Display Edition.

At 91.24 per cent screen-to-body ratio, it’s 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display is reasonably large with an aspect ratio of 19.3:9.

Over the past couple of weeks, Vivo has been in the news for all the right reasons. The brand has recently announced the Vivo NEX Dual Display Edition and more recently, rumours have been swirling around suggesting the brand is working on an affordable option of the handset that will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC along with 8GB RAM. With the product set to launch in India in the near future, its previous flagship, the Vivo NEX gets a price cut and will now retail at Rs 39,990.

The Vivo NEX was launched in July last year and the biggest highlight of the smartphone is its crazy all-screen display, on-screen fingerprint reader, industry-leading Snapdragon 845 and a selfie camera that pops up.

The NEX has its selfie camera sliding up the top — the rear cameras stay exposed like conventional phones. A 12MP+5MP setup looks after the rear camera duties whereas an 8MP front shooter looks after selfies.

At 91.24 per cent screen-to-body ratio, it’s 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display is reasonably large with an aspect ratio of 19.3:9. Vivo has termed this display’s feature as an Ultra FullView Display. Under the hood, the Vivo NEX is powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset aided by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The handset runs on Android 8.1 Oreo layered by FunTouch OS 4.0 along with AI enhancements.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0 port, and OTG support. The device draws its power from a 4000mAh battery. The smartphone houses an in-display fingerprint sensor, that is claimed to be 10 per cent faster and 50 per cent improved accuracy.

Lastly, the Vivo NEX can be purchased at this new price point from Amazon India.
