A 1.5Gbps PtMP (Point-to-multipoint communication) dual band 3.5GHz & 5GHz solution has been introduced.

Radwin’s Jet Duo base station encapsulates both 3.4-3.7GHz and 4.9-6.0GHz radios to deliver 1.5Gbps data speeds.

Radwin the global wireless broadband provider announced the world’s first dual-band Beamforming base station.

Radwin’s Jet Duo base station encapsulates both 3.4-3.7GHz and 4.9-6.0GHz radios to deliver 1.5Gbps data speeds. By providing both the 3.5GHz and 5GHz bands in a single compact unit, Jet Duo allows service providers to reduce installation costs, tower space and rental expenses associated with deploying multiple single-band base stations.

Service providers can use the 5GHz band for residential customers while freeing up the 3.5GHz band for lucrative SLA customers. Service providers can also utilise the 5GHz band for customers in scenarios with direct line-of-sight (LOS) while using the 3.5GHz band to serve customers in nLOS scenarios. With Jet Duo, service providers have the flexibility to choose the suitable frequency band to serve a set of customers and deployment scenarios.

Jet Duo features independent beamforming antennas for each band. This solution incorporates Radwin’s second generation 5GHz beamforming technology to ensure interference immunity and highest spectrum efficiency.

With Jet Duo, service providers can mitigate the 3.5GHz spectrum bottleneck while reducing their ongoing OPEX and CAPEX to lower total cost of ownership. The company claims to be the first in the market to introduce such a system.
