Maharashtra’s players amassed another bountiful of medals as the 11sports National Ranking Table Tennis Championship (West Zone).

In all, they amassed one gold, four silver and three bronze to emerge as the most successful state in the event.

The medal rush began with Madhurika Patkar clinching the gold in the Women’s Singles; it was a 1-2 for Maharashtra as the losing finalist was state-mate Divya Deshpande.

Sanil Shetty too had a momentous run in the Men’s Singles before he lost to eventual runner-up Anirban Ghosh of AAI in the semifinals; his effort however yielded him a well-deserved bronze medal.

In the Junior Boys’ category too, Maha’s Raegan Albuquerque made it to the finals. He, however, couldn’t get past Manush Shah of Gujarat and had to settle for the second spot and a silver medal. Maharashtra’s Deepit Patil also collected a bronze medal, losing to Manush in a semifinal clash.

Gaurav Panchangam won a silver medal in the Cadet Boys while Sana d’Souza had to be content with a bronze medal in the Cadet Girls.
