New Delhi: Virat Kohli may have had a quiet series with the bat in the recently concluded Australia tour of India, but interim Australia skipper David Warner believes the Team India skipper uplifts the team with his aggression. The southpaw also feels that is helping the Men in Blue winning series after series with utmost ease.

India thrashed the Aussies ruthlessly in the ODI format, clinching a 4-1 series win before securing a 1-1 draw in the T20I series after the final match in Hyderabad was called off.

Young talents such as Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have shone in the series, but Warner believes Kohli is the man who keeps pushing the team to new heights.

“Fantastic last 12 months for India. Credit to Virat Kohli’s leadership. His passion for the game is fantastic. He’s a player who steps up and gets his players fired up,” Warner was quoted saying by India Today.

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly also commented on Kohli, stating he will regain his lost touch in the upcoming series against New Zealand.

“Overall, it has been a great year for India, winning series after series. They have done exceptionally well so I don’t think Virat should be disappointed,” said Ganguly.

“He’s a super player, he’s human. He won’t get runs every series, nobody in the world has. He will comeback against New Zealand and do well. He was in good touch against Australia, it’s not that he looked out of form and I think he will continue to score runs for India because he is a very, very good cricketer,” Ganguly added.

India will lock horns with New Zealand in a week’s time as they host the Black Caps for a 3-match ODI series and a T20 series.
