Three held for selling fake insurance

The police arrested Patil and during his interrogation, they learned about the duo and the company’s head office at Belgaum.

The arrested accused were identified as Prashant Sutar (25), CEO; and Inayat Abdul Bedrekar (31), general manager, both of whom operated from Karnataka.

Mumbai: The Mumbai crime branch busted a fake vehicle insurance racket operating out of Belgaum and arrested three persons including top management. The illegal racket was broken after unit three of the crime branch found an office in Lower Parel offering door-to-door service and selling fake insurance policies to over 800 persons.

The arrested accused were identified as Prashant Sutar (25), CEO; and Inayat Abdul Bedrekar (31), general manager, both of whom operated from Karnataka.
The third accused was identified as Gajanan Patil (28), a supervisor who operated out of the fraudulent company’s Lower Parel office. The said company was identified as One Point Solutions General Insurance.

The police arrested Patil and during his interrogation, they learned about the duo and the company’s head office at Belgaum.

A crime branch officer said, “Another team of unit three left for Belgaum and arrested two others.”
