Mumbai: Mumbai’s iconic dabbawalas have decided to side with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray in the Ram Mandir row and have decided to travel Ayodhya in its support. Mr Thackeray’s visit to Ayodhya will be a part of Shiv Sena’s political campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Maharashtra elections.

Apart from Mumbai’s dabbawalas, supporters from Hindutva outfits and the Varkari community are expected to join the Sena in its visit to Ayodhya. The Shiv Sena chief had recently announced his 'Chalo Ayodhya' initiative.

The dabbawalas are also planning to generate momentum among the people for the early construction of the Ram Temple.  Mumbai Dabbawala Association spokesperson Subhash Talekar said, “We extend our support to the Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. We have booked a special train and, with the name of Lord Rama on our lips, will start our journey from here to Ayodhya.”
