New Delhi: The 17-year-old son of a Delhi police sub-inspector was arrested after being accused of repeatedly raping and blackmailing a minor girl, who is the daughter of another sub-inspector, said the police.

It said the crime surfaced on Tuesday when the accused reached the girl’s residence in West Delhi’s Dwarka and threatened her. He was caught by her father.

The victim told the police that her cousin had introduced her to the accused six months ago. Subsequently, they had become friends.

The police said the victim lives in a society in Dwarka North, while the accused lives with his family in Haryana’s Bahadurgarh.

He allegedly raped her after threatening to uplo-ad her videos on the Internet, an official said.

On Monday, the accused had allegedly asked the victim to meet him at his house. However, she refused. Following this, he threatened the girl and barged into her house where he was caught by her family members, the police official added.

“The girl’s father, who is posted in a different police station, heard their conversation and informed the police. The girl, a student of Class 12, came in contact with the accused some six months ago,” a senior police officer said.

The accused took the victim to an unidentified place for a date in February. He made her consume soft drink laced with sedative, raped her, and videotaped the crime, the officer said.

“A native of Haryana, the accused was blackmailing her ever since and forcing her to submit to his carnal desires against her wish,” he added.

The youngster confessed to his crime during questioning. His mobile phone containing eight objectionable video clips of the girl was seized. The Juvenile Justice Board sent him to a children’s observation home,” the officer added.

Based on a complaint filed by her, a case was registered under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.

The accused was sent to a juvenile correction home, a police officer said, adding that the videos have been recovered from his phone.
