Woman says business partner raped her in city hotel

New Delhi: A woman entrepreneur has accused her business partner of allegedly raping her on the pretext of marriage in Delhiā€™s Leela hotel.

The 25-year-old woman is a resident of Haryana and runs a garment business, while her 30-year-old partner and accused is a resident of Delhi.

According to the complaint, the duo became friends around two years ago during a business meeting, said the police. The complainant alleged that the accused allured her with the prospect of marriage. However, he sidelined her later and rejected her. He even misbehaved with her multiple times.

According to the police, the victim lodged a complaint on Friday against the accused regarding rape on the pretext of marriage. The complainant said that the accused induced physical relation with her for nearly two years. However, when she repeatedly asked him to tie the knot, he rejected. The woman further alleged that the accused has a debauched nature, of which she was unaware. She also said that the accused always booked them in five star hotels whenever he met her.

The police said both of them had physical relation in December last year after which the accused declined to marry her. Following this, the victim registered a complaint with the police.

A case under appropriate sections has been registered with the Anand Vihar police station. The police is searching for the accused. The whole situation will be cleared once the accused is nabbed, said a police official.
