New Delhi: Heavy rain on Monday affected traffic movement at some parts of the national capital.

Massive waterlogging in several parts of the city threw traffic out of gear. Traffic was affected from Hayat towards AIIMS due to water logging at AIIMS flyover. It was a humid morning in the city and the minimum temperature settled at 25° Celsius, two notches below normal.

The MeT office has predicted that rainfall would continue and the temperature would reduce further.

“Heavy rainfall is expected in various areas in the city during the day. The maximum temperature will settle around 35° Celsius,” a MeT official said.

On Sunday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37.8° Celsius while the minimum stood at 28.6° Celsius. Delhi last saw heavy rainfall on July 13.

Areas like Tilak Bridge, Modi Mill flyover, and Dhaula Kuan were completely under water. Waterlogging was also reported from areas near Welcome Metro station.

The Safdarjung observatory, the recording of which is considered official for the city, received 32 mm rainfall between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm. The humidity oscillated bet-ween 79 and 100 per cent.
