Three fire incidents in Delhi in 3 days

NEW DELHI: It seems that the fire in national capital is on a spree as on third consecutive day a medium category fire broke out at Archies greeting card factory in the Naraina Industrial area in west Delhi on Thursday morning.

The blaze spread rapidly to the top floor of the three-story factory. Some 30 fire engines are at the spot. However there was no casualty despite being a medium category fire.

It was surely not a Good Valentine’s Day for Archies, which is famous for its greeting Cards and Merchandises, as one of its factory was gutted in a major blaze.

According to fire department, a call was received at 7.10 am after which initially, 23 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The fire was controlled by 11.15 am and the cooling process was initiated.

Later, seven more fire tenders were rushed to the spot, DFS said, adding no causality has been reported. The cause of fire was short circuit, which took place at the front side of the building where the corporate office located.

Almost 200 employees work at the Archies unit, however at the time of incident no one was present as office starts from 9 am. The 20,000 square feet building had a corporate office in the front while the factory was located on the rear side.
