Minor rape victim forced to drink poison in Dwarka

New Delhi: A Class 10 girl was forcibly poisoned while she was returning home from tuition in Dwarka district’s Hastsal area on Thursday evening.

The girl, who was a rape victim, intended to give her statement against the accused. It is alleged that the associates of the accused, who was out on bail, poisoned her.

According to information, the minor girl was poisoned to stop her from giving testimony in court. The incident took place on Hastsal Road in Uttam Nagar.

The victim was rushed to the hospital where she is out of danger.

The rape accused, identified as Neeraj, recently came out on bail. He conspired to poison the girl to stop her from giving statement against him. There is already a case of kidnapping and rape registered against him at Ranhola police station.

The victim alleged that when she was returning home from tuition in the evening, two bike-borne men intercepted her way and threatened her of dire consequences if she gave statement against Neeraj in the court. The victim refused to comply and insisted on giving her statement against Neeraj. At this, the duo caught hold of the girl and forced her to drink the poison. Subsequently, they fled from the spot.

In her semi-conscious state, the victim stopped an auto and went to the DDU hospital. Her condition is stable now. On Friday, she narrated the entire incident to the police. Following this, the Uttam Nagar police registered a case against the accused for threatening the witnesses and other relevant sections. The police has initiated an investigation.
