Ageing is something a number of people across the globe are uncomfortable with as they want to look young for as long as possible. From surgery to treatments like Botox, people use a lot of ways to get rid of wrinkles while the key to this may be found commonly occurring in nature.

Research has found that maple leaf extract can be as effective as Botox injections against wrinkles. Wrinkles form when elastin which maintains elasticity in the skin breaks down as part of the ageing process.

The extract containing gallotannins also prevents skin inflammation and lightens blemishes. It has been added to cosmetics as researchers await a patent following which it will be available for use.
