The midnight hour
Kriti Sanon turned showstopper for Arpita Mehta, whose concept translated the mood of the night and the passionate, sensuous aspect of the woman into her flowy, figure-hugging silhouettes. The use of silk chiffon, tabi silk and georgette added a feminine touch to the whimsical world of the pret pieces. Kriti took to the ramp looking pretty in a midnight blue high-waisted lehenga with lotus thread and small cutdana embroidery highlighted with 3D mirror and thread work.

Inner radiance
Though Nachiket Barve did come up with a bridal line, he wanted to reflect the bride’s inner radiance. The very lovely Saiyami Kher closed the show in a stunning deep indigo, layered, scalloped, lehanga, choli with wreath embroidery and a sparkling dupatta.

Monk in black
Divyam Mehta’s ‘The Black Monk’ collection at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017 had subtle glamour and drapes that offered a feminine as well as masculine look. The delicate Shibori patterns and block prints gave an innovative texture to the handloom wool and matka silks. But it was the Kantha work from Bengal and the embroidery that finally completed the ethereal look.

Disobedience embodied
Ujjawal Dubey unveiled his ‘Disobedient’ collection for men’s and women’s wear. The surprise element of the show was Ujjawal’s new colour palette, which stayed loyal to black and charcoal grey but brought in pops of lavender, dark burgundy, air force blue or cadet grey.

The punk warriors
At the Johnnie Walker – The Journey show, Asa Kazingmei made fashion lovers in the audience applaud his amazing creativity. His line was inspired by ancient warrior mixed in with elements of modern punk. “The outfits portray glamour and power and the message is to strive harder every day to be more. Our Johnnie Walker inspired collection is an extension of my belief that like the Striding Man, every individual must Keep Walking through whatever hardships come crosses their path,” he said.
Ritesh Deshmukh walked for the Gen Next designer in a casual but edgy all-black outfit with leather accents.
