BJP plans poetry events to remember Atal Behari Vajpayee

New Delhi: The BJP has decided to organise poetry events - ‘Kaviyanjali’ across the country to mark the one month of the passing away of late party patriarch and former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee. The saffron party workers will host poetry events at 4,000 places across all legislative Assembly and parliamentary constituencies on September 16, during which audio recordings of Vajpayee’s poems will be played.

BJP president Amit Shah said the event is being organised for paying tributes to the late party patriarch by reciting his poems and organising poetry events.

The second event will start from September 17, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will continue till the birth anniversary of party ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyaya on September 25. A week-long social-work activities will be organised at 20,000 places, in which medical camps, vaccination of children and cleanliness drives will be carried out in slums. Mr Shah said by carrying out these welfare works, party workers will pay their tributes as ‘Karyanjali’ to the late BJP stalwart.

The BJP president also informed that the ‘Seva Divas’ campaign, an awareness campaign on the historical  ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme of annual   health will also be started across the country.
