Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party MP Shatrughan Sinha has stoked fresh controversy by claiming that he was not made the minister in Narendra Modi cabinet because of his closeness with BJP patriarch L.K. Advani.

“My vote share in 2014 general election was the highest but a TV actress was made the HRD minister. I think this happened because I belong to Advani camp”, BJP MP from Patna Sahib Shatrughan Sinha said.

Mr Sinha whose tense relationship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah is no secret was speaking at an event organized by a national news channel in Patna on Tuesday.

According to Shatrughan Sinha, differences with party leaders grew after his request for an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi was turned down several times.

He said, “I wanted to give important feedback to the Prime Minister but was asked to meet BJP President Amit Shah”.

Sources in the Bharatiya Janata Party after the event told this newspaper that “his statement has started causing uneasiness in the state unit of the BJP and several party leaders were planning to approach central leaders to initiate action against him for speaking openly against the party”.

Speculation is rife that Shatrughan Sinha in all likelihood will not get the party ticket following his anti-party stand.

However, Shatrughan Sinha who has been aware of his position in BJP has so far kept everyone guessing about his next political move.

There is a buzz that he may join hands with RJD and seek ticket from his sitting constituency.
