For a boy who could not stand on his own to one who could swim 5 kms with this disability, Sriram Srinivas’s life journey is an inspirational story.

The short film Never Give up, showcasing the struggles and achievements of Sriram Srinivas, a boy with cerebral palsy and mental retardation, was screened by the Sai Sriram Trust for specially-abled children in Chennai.

The film describes 25-year-old Sriram Srinivas, affected by cerebral palsy, who was with an ‘Achiever award’ during the recently concluded ‘Ocean Sea Expedition — Samudhra Pheri 2018’ conducted by the NCC units of Cuddalore and Pondicherry. His feat was to swim 5kms in the sea, braving the jelly fish and other dangerous marine creatures and rip currents.

For a boy who could not stand on his own to one who could swim 5 kms with this disability, Sriram Srinivas’s life journey is an inspirational story. When life challenged him with a hard battle to live a normal life, Sriram stood tall and conquered all his limitations fighting every hurdle on his way.

U.Sagayam, vice chairman of Science Planetarium campus and Commodore Vijesh J. Garg, DDG, NCC Directorate (TN, AN & P), were among the dignitaries at the felicitation function.  Sagayam praised Sriram’s unimaginable self confidence in achieving this feat and expressed his appreciation of Sriram’s parents for their massive support to the specially challenged child.
