Actress Huma Qureshi, who has been lying low these past few months, is in the news for collaborating and working with Deepa Mehta for a new Netflix series, Leila.

This Netflix original is the first web series for Huma, who was last seen in Kaala, alongside Rajinikanth.

A source close to the project reveals, “Huma will be seen playing mother to a young girl in the series. The series will follow Huma in search of her daughter, Leila, who she lost one tragic summer.”

Deepa Mehta, who is known for critically acclaimed trilogy Fire Earth and Water, will also serve as the creative executive producer for the show which includes a duo of directors- Shanker Raman and Pawan Kumar.
