Kriti Sanon

Post the success of Bareilly Ki Barfi, actress Kriti Sanon seems to be on a roll. The actress has been offered a bunch of scripts, of which she has picked some interesting ones. One of the offerings will be in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat, a period drama.

Kriti says, “It’s my first period film and, of course, Ashutosh is someone who is fabulous at it. I just want to see how he takes me to a different world altogether with Panipat.”

The film is based on the Third Battle of Panipat, which is among the most epic battles in the history of India that took place on January 14, 1761.

“I will be working with Arjun Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt for the first time and I am so excited to be part of this project. It’s going to be a different kind of film for me,” she added.

Reportedly, Kriti will essay the role of Parvatibai, the second wife of Maratha warrior Sadashivrao Bhau. Arjun will play Sadashivrao and Sanjay Dutt will play Ahmed Shah Abdali.

Produced by Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar, the film is slated to release in December 6, 2019.
