Not many know that Sharman Joshi is the son-in-law of veteran actor Prem Chopra, who played villain in many a movie. Chopra recently completed 60 years in the film industry.

The veteran made his debut in the Bharat Bhushan starrer Mud Mud Ke Na Dekh, and had a short but uncredited role in an older movie, Tangewali.

However, Sharman wants to play the role his father-in-law played in the Amitabh Bachchan-Rekha starrer Do Anjaane, which was directed by Dulal Guha.

Chopra’s role of Ranjit Malik had won him several awards too. “I loved his role in the film Do Anjaane, and would love to play it. It was a wonderful film, and he had a fabulous role in it,” smiles Sharman.

The 3 Idiots actor is glad that he had a senior actor guiding him all this while. “He’s an exceptional professional and a human being. I’m very fortunate to have known him at such a personal level. I’ve spent many evenings with him, and have heard some wonderful anecdotes. I’ve learnt so much from him and have even learnt to inspire myself time and again. His life has been one of discipline, hard work and perseverance,” gushes Sharman.
