RK Studios celebrated their last Ganapati festival at the studio before the legendary studio goes up for sale soon.

The area that was burnt due to fire last year wore a desolate look. Rajeev Kapoor, the youngest of Raj Kapoor’s sons was up there early supervising things and mixing with the staff and guests at the studio.

Known as the RK Films and Studios’ Ganeshotsav, the festival has been celebrated for a few decades at the 70-year-old studio built over a two-acre prime property in Chembur.

Rishi Kapoor had recently admitted that they were not able to sustain the expenses involved and hence wanted to sell off the studio as it had turned into a white elephant of sorts.

Most of the Kapoors are expected to be present when the Ganesh idol will be immersed. While Raj Kapoor’s sons Randhir, Rishi and Rajeev are a regular feature during the immersions, Ranbir Kapoor has been spotted a couple of times. “But this time Kareena, Karisma, and other famed Kapoors will also be there, dancing and giving the Ganesha idol an emotional farewell,” informs a source.

“Our routine will more or less be the same,” avers Randhir Kapoor keeping his fingers crossed about the participation of the Kapoor Khandaaan including the extended families of the Jains and Nandas as well.
