Kawasaki Ninja 1000 is priced at Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Ninja 1000 ABS draws power from a 1043cc engine which makes 141.9PS of power at 10000rpm and 111Nm of torque at 7300rpm.

Adding another reason for Kawasaki fans to opt for the Ninja 1000 and Z900 models, Kawasaki India has given its bikes a cosmetic update. So what’s new this time around? The Kawasaki sports tourer 2018 Ninja 1000 ABS gets new colour options while the Z900 gets an all new limited edition trim.

Speaking of new colour options, the Ninja 1000 ABS now gets dual-tone paint schemes - Emerald Blazed Green with Metallic Carbon Grey and Metallic Spark Black with Metallic Carbon Grey. Apart from this, the bike remains unchanged. The Ninja 1000 ABS draws power from a 1043cc engine which makes 141.9PS of power at 10000rpm and 111Nm of torque at 7300rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed transmission. The Kawasaki Ninja 1000 is priced at Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and is the first litre-class motorcycle from Kawasaki to be assembled in India. It competes against the recently launched Ducati SuperSport and the Suzuki GSX-S1000F.

“The Ninja 1000 ABS is doing exceptionally well in the global premium sports-tourer market. And when we say global market, India also becomes a part of it. That's why Ninja 1000 is our SKD model in the new IKM factory of India. Every product and its variant have a specific product lifecycle. I anticipate that our Ninja 1000 ABS with redefined colour combination will attract new customers," said Yutaka Yamashita, managing director of India Kawasaki Motors

Along with the Ninja 1000, the Kawasaki Z900 has also received a cosmetic upgrade. The 2017 model is now called the Z900 Special Edition and comes with Metallic Spark Black colour and new graphics. Like the Ninja 1000, the changes are purely cosmetic in nature. The Z900 Special Edition is still powered by the same 948cc in-line, 4-cylinder engine which produces 125.7PS of power at 9500rpm and 98.6Nm of torque at 7500rpm paired to a 6-speed transmission. Currently, the Z900 is brought to India via the CBU route from Thailand. While Kawasaki hasn’t shared prices for the Z900 Special Edition, we expect it to carry the same Rs 7.68 lakh (ex-showroom) price tag as before.
